Toledo, Ohio – Lucas County Sheriff’s Deputy Alan Gaston walked into the Lucas County IRS office on May 31 to ask a question, and got a lot more than he bargained for.
Next, security guard Seth Eklund decided it would be a good idea to enforce the ‘gun free zone’ of the IRS office on a uniformed, on duty Deputy Sheriff. Eklund pulled his gun on the Deputy, ordered him to disarm, and even attempted to detain him at the scene. 911 was called and told an armed man was refusing to leave the office, but for some reason never mentioned the subject was an on duty law enforcement officer.
Deputy Gaston decided to deescalate the situation and walk away. He returned with the deputies responding to the man with a gun call. Eklund was subsequently arrested for aggravated menacing and is facing court next week.
How are these gun free zones working for us so far?
Former Michigan State football All American Malik McDowell is shown on a new video released today assaulting a police officer. The February incident shows the 6’6″, 300 lb man even try and take an officers taser.
The beginning of the video is on a traffic stop with a Lathrup Village police officer. The officer had just witnessed McDowell spin out in his vehicle and made a traffic stop. McDowell immediately begins to ask for supervisor at the beginning of the encounter, and it all goes down hill from there.
McDowell choses to walk away from the officer on the stop and then the officer attempts to detain him. The fight begins and in the process McDowell reaches for a taser and it was reported he reached for a second responding officer’s taser as well.
McDowell was charged with two counts of felony assault and resisting arrest, one misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated and a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license.
McDowell was released from the Seahawks shortly after this incident and is now a free agent. Let’s hope nobody decides to sign this guy.
These stories are my favorite. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in Florida says 35-year-old Barry Lee Hastings Jr. was driving on the highway Thursday night when he activated flashing lights on a vehicle and conducted a traffic stop of another driver.
Now here comes the fun… The other driver just so happened to be an off duty Lee County deputy. Can you see where this is going yet?
The off duty deputy saw right through Hastings’ scam and asked for his credentials immediately. Hastings claimed he “left his credentials at the office”. The real deputy quickly called 911 and Hastings fled the scene.
Another unit was able to catch up with Hastings a short time later and make the arrest for impersonating an officer, thus ending his short fake law enforcement career.
I’m not a Harris supporter, AT ALL, but i find it interesting her enemies on the left use her association with law enforcement to attack her. Above is an image used by her political opponents to paint her as too pro-police. Apparently in the 2020 elections it’s a bad thing to be associated with law enforcement in the Democrat party.
Harris is a former California Attorney General and District Attorney for San Francisco. She wasn’t exactly loved by police in California, but I guess she is too pro-justice for the dems! Get ready for a full on assault against law enforcement this election cycle!
Randy Sutton, (a former LVPD LT, Blue Lives Radio Host, and The Wounded Blue Founder) gives his thoughts on the Tempe Police Officers recently being asked to leave a Starbucks because a customer felt intimidated by them.
It’s happened once again. The complete lack of respect for uniform, on duty police officers these days is mind boggling. This time it’s a Starbucks in Tempe, AZ where on the Fourth Of July an employee asked several Tempe Police Officers to leave the establishment or get out of sight because a customer complained they “did not feel safe” with the police present.
“This treatment of public safety workers could not be more disheartening. While the barista was polite, making such a request at all was offensive. Unfortunately, such treatment has become all too common in 2019.” Tempe Officer Association Statement.
Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler becomes collaborator of Antifa as he orders Police to ignore violence. Blue Lives Radio Hosts Randy Sutton and Guest Host Ray Dietrich call for investigation and removal from office.
This one makes you want to jump inside the screen and take action when you watch.
Normally, you won’t find me criticizing officers, and especially not criticizing after a critical incident. I was a deputy sheriff for 17 years and understand very well that things are crazy in the moment and tend to look worse on camera… BUT… the end of this incident was completely avoidable.
I understand the value of human life and it’s in our nature to protect it and to keep from taking it to quickly. There have been literally dozens of times I would have been justified in shooting a suspect due to their actions, and did not, so just being quick on the trigger is not what I’m speaking of.
At the end of the day, the good guys go home to their families, no matter what. The officers in this incident are extremely lucky they are not planning a funeral after this incident.
They retreated down that long driveway for such a distance that they ended up in the street where the fire department was staging for the incident. Police don’t have to retreat, ever. Every step backward was a gift to the suspect of another moment on this planet after he decided to take a knife to a gunfight. Allowing this man to back the officers up all the way to a street to where the fireman (and public) are waiting for the scene to become safe is a massive mistake and could have caused injuries to others.
In my opinion, that officers should have made a stand prior to leaving the property and endangering more of the public.
The next big issue for me comes after they do decide to use lethal force. The suspect is hit, quickly recovers and starts moving forward toward officers again. My question is, if it was ok to shoot the suspect the first time for the exact same actions, why wasn’t it the second time? They should have used deadly force the second time much faster.
Instead, somehow the suspect (still with a knife) is able to charge an officer who somehow does not have his gun drawn DURING an officer involved shooting incident and take him hostage. It appears the officer was attempting to tase the suspect when he was attacked. Well, using a taser is over the moment you need to use deadly force, and clearly this was a time they should have had a gun drawn.
Thankfully the second officer took a gutsy shot and put the suspect down. They almost lost an officer and it was completely preventable.
All of this being said, I’m thankful the officers survived and they ended the incident. My criticism is meant to be a warning or reminder to others.
Nike made the decision to pull the new Air Max 1 USA model with a Betsy Ross era flag design after former NFL quarterback turned social justice warrior Colin Kaepernick complained it was “offensive”.
The shoes were to be released during the 4th Of July week. This would make a lot of sense as the country is celebrating it’s independence at the same time. A company that cared about people who are patriotic would have known this. Nike almost was one.
It is clear in the era of the social justice warriors, antifa, the socialist arm of the left, and fake news media outlets that even our nations basic history is under attack. What’s next, changing the flag because it is offensive? That may sound funny but the more we tear down statues, erase history, and bow down to the social justice warriors we are one step closer to this every day. Remember when the Taliban first took over Afghanistan and started blowing up religious statues they didn’t agree with? Yep, I do to.
Nike, how about you stop listening to an overhyped B+ QB at best and start paying attention to the silent majority that loves their country and celebrates their freedom.
